Book Fair

Our school's Book Fair this year will be on November 3rd from 4:30-6:30.  We would like to invite you and everyone you know to visit our event.  There will be a great selection of books and fun items at the fair.  We will have literacy workshops and special book readings beginning at 5:00.  Get a jump on the holidays and start your shopping here.  Visit all of our literacy stations for your chance to be entered into the raffle for a free gift.

Silly Bandz Fundraiser:

As you probably know by now, 5th grade goes to camp each year at UPA.  In order to help defray the costs, many of the 5th graders agreed to participate in a variety of fundraisers.  Our first fundraiser starts tomorrow, October 18th.  Students will be able to purchase Silly Bandz for 50¢.  If we can sell all of our Silly Bandz, we can raise $500.00 towards camp.  Students will be allowed to wear their Silly Bandz on October 28th.

I want to thank you all very much for having your students here on time every day.  Our class attendance has been fantastic this year.  This obviously helps with the students' learning, but it also makes my job much, much easier.

Reminder:

Milestone 2 is due on Thursday, November 21st.  Milestone 2 is the notes from the resources.  The students and I went over how to make an outline.  The information for all milestones can be found further down on the blog.

Everyday Math Help

The following is a link to the Everyday Mathematics website, which contains all of the Family Letters for the year. Family Letters provide help with key vocabulary and answers to homework. Your child should bring this home at the beginning of each unit, but here is an online version.  I will put this link permanently in the Parent Link Tab
