Parent-Teacher Information Meeting

 

Dear Families,

 

We are so excited about 5th grade camp. We know you have a lot of questions, and we would love to discuss the details with you. You're invited to a parent information meeting on Wednesday, Dec 12th at 4:00 so we can share some information with you and address your concerns. We will meet in the village area on the 3rd floor.  Students are welcome.

CHECKLIST FOR EXHIBITIONS -- Semester 1 -- WETHERBEE

What you must bring:

o    All interest project work

o    Agendas (enough copies for each student, one to be projected, or a giant-sized agenda)

o    All visual aids for all subjects and interest project

 

INTRODUCTION

o    Introduce yourself

o    Welcome audience

o    Pass out and review your agenda

PROJECT WORK: (70%)

o    Interest Project

o    What was your driving question?  (This should be prominent on your visual aid.)

o    Why did you choose it?

What did you learn about it?

Visual aids should be focused on this part of the project.

 

All subjects/information listed below must be presented. NOTE: ALL OF THESE ITEMS MUST HAVE A SEPARATE VISUAL AID. Be creative!  

 

Math (15%):

o    Present your story problem from unit 1.

§  Explain how you wrote it.

§  Describe the visual.

§  Explain how you would solve it.

o    Share your place value board game (we'll make it in class)

§  Explain the rules.

§  Give a brief demonstration.

§  Explain how place value plays an important role in the game

 

Reading (15%):

o    Share your legend

§  Read your legend.

§  Describe the visual.

§  Explain what makes it a legend.

o    Share your feature article

§  Explain how you wrote it.

§  Describe the visual.

§  Explain what makes it a feature article.
