MAP Test Note

As University Prep Academy has moved towards a more data driven climate, there has been an increase in talk about the MAP test.  MAP stands for Measures of Academic Progress and is created by NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association).  With the increase in talk, parents have begun to ask questions.  In the past the MAP test was used as a tool for teachers, but we are opening the data up to parents as well.  The MAP test is given three times a year on the computer.  The test adapts difficulty so that each student gets half of the questions right and half of the questions wrong.  Below is a link to the NWEA Parent Toolkit.  I will also add a link to the toolkit in the Parents’ Links section of the blog as well.  If you have any questions check there first or I can try to answer them for you.  http://www.nwea.org/support/article/930/parent-toolkit
