4th GRADE CHECKLIST FOR PORTFOLIO MATH



What you need to do to complete your 4th Grade End of the Year Portfolio:

Part 1
1.     Create a 3-digit by 2-digit multiplication problem, and a long division problem that has 1 divisor with a 2–digit dividend. 
2.     Tell the method that you used to solve the math problems. For example, lattice, or traditional multiplication/division.
3.     For both problems, write step-by-step instructions for solving them.

_____/50 points (Each step by step operation is worth 25 points each.)

Part 2
1.     Create a digital video, of you, teaching each math problem that you created.

Part 3
1.     Choose and Solve one of the given word problems, and write an explanation of how you solved the problem.

Word Problem # 1: Nicole collected 268 sports cards. Jaila collected 32 times a many cards as Nicole. How many cards does Jail have in all?

Word Problem #2: Jalise, Nan and Paul earned 789 points together for community service. If they decided to split the points equally, how many points will each person receive?

******* IMPORTANT NOTE*******

You are required to fulfill each part of this checklist for your portfolio.

You must receive at least 80% on your portfolio to pass.  If you don’t pass, you will be required to redo your portfolio.  In addition, any parts not present will result in points being deducted.
